Un dimanche, j'ai acheté un lot de cartes en carton dans un vide-grenier local. Elles datent probablement des années 60, et servaient à l'école pour apprendre l'orthographe des mots en jouant.
Je l'ai acheté, car parmi les dessins, il y a un modèle Meccano !
Le mot est mal orthographié (mécano au lieu de Meccano ou meccano), mais il y a souvent confusion au niveau de l'orthographe.D'une part "mécano" existe, c'est l'abréviation de "mécanicien", et d'autre part, le mot "Meccano" est presque devenu une antonomase (vu par exemple dans l'express à propos de l'ISS)
Last sunday I bought a pack of cards made of cardboard in a car boot sale. They probably date from the '60s and were used in school to learn spelling words. I bought them because among the drawings, there is a Meccano model ! The word is misspelled ("mécano" instead of "Meccano"), but in French, "mécano" also exists as an abbreviation for "mécanicien" (mechanic), so there is often confusion.
